Book Haul: The Fundamentals of Yoga
Hi, posers!
I have so many exciting updates regarding my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training...it's been wonderful and exciting and challenging and seems like one of those serendipitous experiences and so on and so forth!
BUT...
We have plenty of time to discuss all of that over the next six months as I dig my way through YTT.
Today I'm here to share my first book haul for this blog. This is something I've wanted to do for awhile, and something I plan to do again going forward. I'm a massive bookworm and between YTT and my own digging around, I've been lucky enough to find so many great books about yoga.
For this first haul, I chose five of the required book for my YTT that cover various aspects of yoga fundamentals. I tried to make this list as well-rounded as possible, but also chose books that are accessible to different types of readers/learners.
Rather than exhaust you with a wordy blog post singing the praises of each of these books, I chose to exhaust you with a long-winded video where I ramble about their merits instead. If you fall asleep, then that's technically like ASMR, right? Which means I'm helping ya out, right? Totes😹
Anyway, without further ado...
If you're interested in getting your hands on a copy of any of these titles, here ya go:
The Royal Path by Swami Rama
Light on Yoga by BKS Iyengar
The Bhagavad Gita translated by Stephen Mitchell
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali translated by Sri Swami Satchidananda
Hatha Yoga Illustrated by Martin Kirk, Brooke Boon, and Daniel DiTuro
Are there any books I missed? Let me know in the comments below!
Thanks so much for reading!
XO
